The Research and Innovation team at Nottingham University Hospitals are responsible for studies which are not adopted onto the NIHR portfolio, that involve NUH staff, patients, data, tissue or facilities. This includes:
- Commercial Studies
- Non Commercial Studies
- CTIMP Studies
- Medical Device Studies
- Questionnaire/qualitative and mixed quantitative and qualitative studies
- Studies limited to working with human tissue or biological samples
- Studies limited to working with data
- Research tissue banks
- Research databases
Studies that are AUTOMATICALLY ELIGIBLE for adoption onto the NIHR portfolio:
- Clearly be a Research Project
- Have some of their research funding provided by the NIHR, other areas of central government or NIHR non commercial partners
- NIHR non commercial partners are those who award research funds as a result of open competition with high quality peer review and fund research that is of clear value to the NHS
Studies which are POTENTIALLY ELIGIBLE for adoption onto the NIHR portfolio:
- Commercially funded and commercially sponsored Non commercial studies which are investigator initiated trials (i.e. commercial collaborative research)
- Non commercial studies which are funded by overseas governments
- Non commercial studies which are funded by overseas charities
