Applications invited for 2012/2013 research funding from Trent CLRN

NUH Department of Research and Innovation invites applications for research funding from the Trent Comprehensive Local Research Network (Trent CLRN) for the financial period 2012/2013.

  • Funding is allocated by Trent CLRN in support of recruitment to portfolio clinical trials only.
  • Bids can be for consultant time, research nurse or other infrastructure support.

NUH Research & Innovation will review the proposed bids to the Trent CLRN budget and discuss these with the applicants prior to finalising the overall NUH bid to the Trent CLRN. Full support of NUH R&I is a requirement for all applications and you are advised to discuss your bid at an early stage. You will have to demonstrate evidence of your clinical director’s support for this activity.

An important change this year is that the delivery Trent CLRN funding awards will be performance managed by the Trust. For consultants who are awarded Research PAs, this will be through the annual job planning process. The Trust has appointed a pool of research appraisers specifically to inform this process and ensure that personal development plans are aligned with research ambitions. Funding allocated to key service support departments will be performance managed via an MOU with NUH R&I.

Please submit your bids to Kate Horton ( by 17:00 on Friday, 16th December 2011.
