      Details: The NIHR invites research proposals in Primary Care Interventions or services delivered in primary care settings. This call is a key component of the NIHR response to recognition of the need for further research-based evidence related to the provision of primary care services in the NHS. Research proposals must be within the remit of one of the seven NIHR participating programmes. The call closed on 22 May 2013 for the majority of programmes, with the exception of the Research for Patient Benefit Programme, which closes in September 2013, and the Fellowship Programme, which opens in October 2013.

    • National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative Research Call 3 April 30, 2013
      Project Title: National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative Research Call 3
      Details: The National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative (NAEDI) is a partnership between the Department of Health, National Cancer Action Team and Cancer Research UK. It aims to promote earlier diagnosis of cancer, increasing access to optimal treatment and thereby improving survival rates and reducing cancer mortality. NAEDI Research Call 3 will accept high quality, researcher driven project grant applications on any topic within the field of early cancer diagnosis including the following key questions where the evidence is currently lacking: • Investigating reasons for late presentation (to primary care or A&E) and low uptake of screening. • Developing effective interventions to prompt change, at both individual and systemic levels, to reduce late presentation and low uptake of screening. • Investigating reasons for delays occurring within primary care and onward referral. The deadline for full project grant applications is 13 September 2013.
