An innovative approach to the treatment of amblyopia has been developed following a unique collaboration of a multi-disciplinary Nottingham team involving orthoptists, ophthalmologists and IT technologists. They have developed a novel virtual-reality based system where children play interactive computer games or watch DVDs synchronised with 3D glasses so that each eye only sees the image intended for that eye.
