2009/10 has been a year of major success for NUH, with an 85% increase in recruitment to portfolio clinical trials and a circa 100% increase in NIHR funding. NUH R&D has continued to develop a strategic function which underpins the translational research and innovation partnership between the Trust and the University of Nottingham. Our R&D strategy remains consolidated around five key themes providing infrastructure, technology and innovation platforms with the twin aims of enhancing the scientific value of our research ‘portfolio’, and increasing our capacity to support clinical research. The NUH R&D Annual Report provides a summary of research activity at NUH during 2009/10, and describes progress against the NUH R&D Strategy.
